Patient
Transport Arrangements
If a patient is unable to make their own way
to the local hospitals, ie
Broomfield, St John’s or St Peter’s
for Clinic Appointments/ Day Stay/ or
Adminissions then they are welcome to contact the Surgery
during the afternoons and one of the Receptionists will be
more than happy to help with these arrangements. However
the transport department does require
48 hrs notice.
If patients
are
able to find alternative transport with either a relative,
friend or neighbour, it may save time because hospital
transport cannot give definite times for collection.
Please be aware that transport is only booked
for those patients who have no other means of transportation.
With regard to transport to Basildon, the
hospital request that we send them a fax stating that the
patient’s condition warrants having transport before the
patient then books his/her own transport.
In cases of hardship and special circumstances
the patient can apply to the cashiers office at Basildon
hospital for a refund of their fare.
Please note that we are unable to arrange
transport to any of the London hospitals.
