PARKING AT BROOMFIELD HOSPITAL |
 |
Pay Stations are now in operation and prices are
currently:-
|
£2.50 for up to 1 hour
£3.50 for 1-4 hours
£4.50 for 4-8 hours |
If you visit the Car Park Office (situated next to
the main outpatients’ entrance next to A & E), you can buy a
ticket that will last for one day for only £6 and also one that
will last for 7 days for only £15. The only downside being that
the office is manned only between about 7.30 am and 6.00 pm.
Nowhere in the pay stations and on car park notices does it say
you can get these parking tickets. The only thing it does say is
that for longer periods contact the Car Park Office.
If you have a family member hospitalised for a
long period of time you could save quite a lot of money.
It is a nightmare trying to park at Broomfield
Hospital. Here is an alternative
 |
Leave your car at the Sandon Park and Ride and
get off at Stop No 2 in Chelmsford. Walk up Duke Street to
the new Bus Station. Buses for Broomfield Hospital leave from
stand No 7 approximately every 15 minutes. Allow 45 minutes
journey time after you get to the Park and Ride and you will
arrive in good time for your appointment. On the return
journey the bus drops off outside the rail station from where
it is a short walk to either stop No 2 or No 3 of the Park
and Ride.
Park and Ride only operates from 7 am to 7 pm.

Another alternative for patients in Danbury is
served by 2 local bus services; the 31 group that comes from
Maldon and the 36 from South Woodham. During the main part
of the day these services provide up to four buses per hour
from Eves Corner.
People with concessionary bus passes will be
able to use them on these buses and this may be more
convenient as these buses finish their journeys at the bus
station making it easier to change onto connecting buses to
Broomfield Hospital.
These ways of travelling to the hospital are
even better for those fortunate enough to have a free bus
pass.
