BOOK----PROVIDING A GREATER SERVICE FOR OUR PATIENTS
The Danbury Medical Centre and the Wyncroft Surgeries are able to
offer referral appointments to their patients through the Choose
and Book system. This is a national electronic service that gives
patients a choice of place, date and time for their first
outpatient appointment in a hospital or clinic.
There are many benefits to the Choose and Book system .
Patients may be
offered:

A choice of at
least four hospitals for many of the medical conditions
needing treatment |

| b) |
A choice
of date an time of appointment. |
Initially there were some issues with the installation of the
required hardware and software at the Danbury Medical Centre, the
most notably being the upgrade of the main server and all the
computers terminals necessary to allow connection to the central
database.
The Danbury Medical Centre is now able to offer Choose and Book to
as many patients as possible.
Direct referrals to the local hospitals are still provided. With
this process you will be contacted by the hospital and given an
appointment once the consultant has seen the referral letter.
